This class is designed exclusively for existing The Good Hound Company clients who have completed our in-home Behavioural Assessment & Training and are ready to level up with Obedience Training and Socialisation.
You already know how to lead your dog in a calm, confident manner and your dog already understands how to be calm and self regulate — now we build on that foundation in a controlled group environment!
Our Obedience & Socialisation class focuses on strengthening real-world obedience around distractions while continuing to develop healthy, neutral social skills with other dogs and people. This is not a free-for-all playgroup; it’s structured, purposeful training that helps your dog stay connected to you, even in exciting environments.

WHAT WE FOCUS ON:
Our Obedience & Socialisation class focuses on strengthening real-world obedience around distractions while continuing to develop healthy, neutral social skills with other dogs and people. This is not a free-for-all playgroup; it’s structured, purposeful training that helps your dog stay connected to you, even in exciting environments.

PUPPY SCHOOL
FOR ADULT DOGS
Not every dog gets the chance to go to puppy school, and that’s okay.
Whether you’ve adopted an older rescue, missed the puppy school window, or simply need to reset some behaviours, our Puppy School for Adult Dogs offers the perfect fresh start.
Our Puppy School for Adult Dogs is a unique 4-week dog training course in Melbourne, designed to help dogs of any age develop calm behaviour, better focus and reliable obedience.
WHAT WE FOCUS ON:
We combine puppy training foundations, obedience training and behavioural guidance to create a well-rounded learning experience for both dogs and their owners.
In this class we focus on:
• Teaching calm behaviour as a default state of mind
• Building your dog’s ability to switch off and self-regulate
• Helping you become the calm, confident leader your dog needs
• Managing overstimulation and preventing unwanted behaviours
• The foundations of obedience training, sit, drop and recall
• Practising safe, calm socialisation in a controlled group setting
This class is especially helpful for rescue dogs or dogs who may have missed early puppy training, giving them the opportunity to build the foundations many dogs learn during puppy school.

PUPPY SCHOOL
We’re excited to launch The Good Hound Company’s Puppy School, a foundational 4-week group course held in partnership with Andy’s Doggy Daycare – Brunswick East.
This course is designed for puppies up to 5 months old, to give you the tools to give them the best possible start with socialisation, confidence building, and early training that sets the tone for a well-balanced, calm dog.
WHY PUPPY SCHOOL MATTERS:
The early months of your dog's life are the most critical in terms of your dog’s behavioural development. The Good Hound Company Puppy School not only teaches you essential skills, but will help prevent common behavioural issues later in life — all while helping you build a stronger bond with your dog.

• Early socialisation with people and dogs
• Confidence-building through positive exposure
• The basics of Obedience Training - sit, drop, recall
• Behavioural Training foundations - how to establish a calm state of mind
