FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Where do appointments take place? We come to you! Appointments are held in your home so we can assess and train your dog in its home environment and local walking routes.
-
When will I see results? You will see immediate results after our first session. During the session we will address your dogs issues, implement changes and set goals to ensure continued improvement over the next 4-6 weeks. Just like human behaviours and habits, implementing changes takes work and consistency. During our follow up we will assess how your training plan is tracking and update our goals for long term success.
-
How many appointments do I need? Most of our clients do an initial class and then a follow up class 4-6 weeks later. However this is completely dependent on your dog and specific situation. Some dogs we might just see the one time and other more complex cases may need more intervention.
-
How do I pay?Payment is made after your class. We can send you an invoice or take a cash or card payment on the spot.
-
Do I need to have a specific collar or lead for my appointment? No! We come with all the tools we may need in your class and have stock on us if you wish to purchase any lead, collar, harness or vest required.
-
How should I prepare for my appointment?Depending on the time of your class and if appropriate, we prefer your dog to not be walked or fed ahead of the class. If you have any concerns about this please contact us.
-
Do I need treats for my appointment? We will cover a feeding protocol during our class which can be done with treats or just your dogs regular feed/kibble. You won't need a mountain of treats for the session!
-
Should my partner and/or kids participate?Definitely! Anyone living in your home that takes part in the care of your dog should attend if possible. If its appropriate for your kids to participate or if we're doing a class to address issues with a baby or toddler then wed love to have them.
-
Do you bring your dog for my appointment? Not to an initial class where we are assessing your dog but we definitely encourage you to book a time where we will see dogs during your class if that is an issue. Depending on your dog and if appropriate we can bring a dog to follow up classes for socialisation or further work with reactivity. *We will bring a dog or two for rural appointments where we're unlikely to see other dogs during the session.
